Our Coronavirus Antiviral Disinfection Service in 5 Steps
Although all the restrictions are lifted, Cleaning Express continues providing the services on request.
SURVEY
Initially, we carry out a survey of your property – to assess what needs to be done.
PREPARE
Next, our technicians will prepare the property for the disinfection process.
DISINFECT
We then disinfect the property with a fogging machine, using a bio detergent which is very effective against COVID-19 and other viruses and bacteria.
WAIT
The disinfectant agent must be left on the surfaces for 60 minutes to work effectively in order to kill the virus and any bacteria.
PROTECT
The bio detergent will leave an invisible protection layer. The period of effectiveness depends on how often the surface is used.
Does it kill the Coronavirus?
Yes, it does. Coronavirus is a basic ‘enveloped’ virus. The virus is enclosed by a lipid membrane (a fat like substance,) this membrane (envelope) is used by the virus to attach itself to the host cell, the virus then penetrates the host cell and replicates itself. The envelope is actually quite fragile, and susceptible to changes in temperature, pH levels and Disinfectants.
Like most enveloped viruses, outside of the human body, they are very weak and easily destroyed with hot water and disinfectant (hence all the media advice to wash your hands!) Needless to say, you cannot kill viruses so easily once they are inside the human body, so never, ever consume a disinfectant!
Is it safe?
Yes. It is both child-friendly and pet-friendly. Our Bio Product is derived from natural plant oils and is an environmentally-friendly bio disinfectant. It is suitable for most textile surfaces in the home – pH neutral and safe on wool.
Do you provide a certificate after disinfection?
Yes we do. After completing antiviral disinfection we will provide you with a proof of disinfection certificate.
What European Standards do you hold?
We have the following European Standards: E14476, EN1276, EN1650.
Why is fogging the best option for antiviral disinfection?
Tests show that traditional wiping of surfaces only clears around 11% of bacteria and viruses, according to the British Medical Journal. In fact, the system can even end up spreading the germs because they attach to the cloth and then are wiped onto clean surfaces. Not only that, but there are many hard to reach spots that regular cleaning cannot reach.
Will the treatment last?
Yes, it will. We use a product which is QAT based. Quaternary ammonium compounds (QAT) take longer to work but provide longer lasting protection. They are best applied and left on the surface in order to (in effect) kill the virus. They disrupt the envelope membrane, which exposes the nucleocapsid, affecting it‘s ability to infect subsequent cells. In general, it can last weeks but there is some advice to go along with that as we like to be realistic – for two reasons, if the area is high use then the product will get worn off, plus it has a microbial load limit so once enough contamination has been reintroduced then it will not be as effective.
How long does the disinfection take?
The antiviral disinfection procedure takes anything between 30 to 90 minutes for our technician to disinfect, depending on the size of your property. After that, the product needs 60 minutes to take effect.
