Ana Maria has been my cleaner via Cleaning Express - they also provide excellent replacement cleaners when Ann Marie is away - for over 4 years and she is absolutely wonderful. I really look forward to the day she comes and makes my flat feel lovely again. I have had quite a few cleaners over the years and a couple of really good ones - yes, I have been lucky! But Ana Maria is the top of the top. Everything is done beautifully and with such a positive attitude. We used Cleaning Express for a full day deep clean of our house. Our cleaner, Galina, arrived on time and did an incredible job. She focused on all the areas we had requested and even went above and beyond in other areas of the house. How are the cleaners vetted?
We interview cleaners in-person and check their documents to confirm their identity and their right to work in the UK. We also check their proof of address and references. Each domestic cleaner has to pass our skills test in our office. Cleaners go through induction where they will be cleaning houses with one of our supervisors or in the homes of our management team.
Will I have the same cleaner each time?
We do our best to provide the same house cleaner each time and we will provide a replacement if your regular cleaner is unwell or goes on holiday. We can also replace your cleaner if you notice any deterioration of the quality at any point in time. You might be also wondering if you have any house cleaners near me, but we will do our best to allocate a replacement from any neighbouring areas.
Can I cancel my regular domestic cleaning arrangement?
We will be able to replace the cleaner usually within 1 week if you are not happy with the cleaning service. If for any reason you wish to cancel the cleaning service the notice period is 1 month. Please contact us if you wish to cancel and we will help you with the next steps you need to take to cancel your cleaning service.
Do I need to provide cleaning materials?
For our professional cleaning services in London, we provide cleaning materials for end of tenancy and deep cleans. As our regular domestic cleaners travel by public transport they cannot provide cleaning materials or tools, such as hoover, mop and bucket. Therefore, before your book with our service, we highly recommend you to buy a hoover, mop and bucket so that our cleaners have the right equipment to clean your home.
Is it safe to give my cleaner a key?
Yes this is the case with most cleaning companies in the UK and most of our customers leave keys to their cleaners. All cleaners are vetted by looking at their experience, work history and references and have been tested on other jobs before starting to provide regular domestic cleaning services with us. We hold their documents on file and hold comprehensive £10m insurance if anything in your property is stolen or damaged.
Can I book a trial session?
What is included in the regular domestic cleaning service?
We are happy to tailor the cleaning checklist to your particular instructions. Usually, dusting, hoovering, mopping, cleaning of all the surfaces and emptying rubbish bins are the part of the regular domestic cleaning. If you wish to add ironing, bed changing, laundry or target a specific area please specify. It may sound like a maid service, but let us know what your home needs or if you need an extra hand for your errands.
What does your pricing depend on?
Is it fine if my pets are at home during the clean?
It is completely fine. Please specify what kind of pets you have, so we tailor a pet friendly cleaner to your property.
What if I need go for a holiday or cleaner is away/sick?
If you miss a couple of house cleaning sessions, please kindly let us know beforehand and we’ll inform your cleaner accordingly. No cleaner’s fee is charged. If the cleaner is unable to come, we offer a replacement cleaner. If you don’t wish a replacement cleaner during the cleaner’s holiday/sickness, we can refund you accordingly upon your message.
Can I put my account on hold?
As a cleaning company, we will let you put your account on hold for 1 month or more, please contact us and we can make the necessary adjustments to your account. Please note we can’t guarantee that the same cleaner will be available once you resume regular domestic cleaning service.
Do I have to be at home during cleaning session?
It is optional. You can stay at home or may prefer to come back when cleaning is finished to inspect it. We ask customers not to follow cleaners around and observe social distancing.
Accreditations
We believe that better pay attracts and retains higher-quality house cleaners. As a Living Wage Recognised Service Provider we pay all our domestic cleaners the London Living Wage, an independently calculated wage that is higher than the government minimum wage, and based on the cost of living. The rate is £13.15/hour in London. Our domestic cleaners providing one-off services receive rates even higher than the London Living Wage.
In 2022, we won The Royal Greenwich Business Award for workforce development, which shows our dedication for upskilling and training our cleaning staff with our online video training course of 24 videos we personally produced to ensure the best cleaning results and standards are met for our domestic cleaning clients.
About Orpington
Orpington is a town situated within Greater London, roughly 13 miles south-east of Charing Cross. It’s considered to be one of 35 major centres of Greater London. Its proximity to inner London makes it a popular commuter town, although it has its own separate job economy.
Orpington has been inhabited since the Stone Age and was the location of a Roman villa. It was also a popular site during the Anglo-Saxon period, and has remained inhabited as a town to this day. It wasn’t a major economic hub in history but it was a farming centre for hops and soft fruits.
