Cleaning Express were incredibly professional through every step of the process. They have a great team and are incredibly detailed and thorough in their process. They allocated us Elsa as for regular fortnightly cleans. After having used other services with disappointing results we were nervous. However Elsa was absolutely outstanding and we were not disappointed. She went above and beyond, completed everything on the list and more. Everything was cleaned to a highly professional standard. As a Living Wage Recognised Service Provider we pay our housekeepers the London Living Wage, an independently calculated wage that is higher than the government minimum wage, and based on the cost of living. The rate is £14.80/hour in London. Some of our housekeepers achieve rates significantly above London Living Wage
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you do background check on your housekeeper?
We do perform background check for all of our housekeepers. We interview each housekeeper individually, check their documents to confirm their identity and their right to work in the UK. We also collect references and proof of address. Each housekeeper has to pass our skills test and the trial cleaning session prior to working at our clients’ homes.
Can I give housekeeper my preferred cleaning tasks?
You are more than welcome to provide your own personalised tasks to your housekeeper, as long as the cleaning is performed within the given timeframe. Our housekeepers are flexible and take client’s prioritised tasks on board well.
Will I have the same housekeeper each time?
You will usually have the same housekeeper attending your property all the time. If your regular housekeeper goes on holiday or is unwell, we will provide a replacement housekeeper for the time being.
Can I leave housekeeper alone in my house?
It is entirely up to the client to be present during the cleaning or leave your housekeeper at the property alone. You are more than welcome to pop out for the duration of the cleaning and come back to inspect it just before the cleaner leaves. We kindly ask customers not to follow cleaners around and observe social distancing.
How does the payment work?
Our payments are usually split in two parts. Your housekeeper gets paid directly by you each time she comes in, either in cash or bank transfer. Second part is the agency fee which is paid by a monthly direct debit.
What if I don’t like my housekeeper?
We will take your feedback on board and will provide a replacement housekeeper to make sure that you are fully happy with the service.
What if I am going on holiday or my housekeeper is ill?
We kindly ask to notify of any planned holidays, so that we can inform your cleaner accordingly. Our housekeeping service is regular, therefore your cleaner can still go to your property when you are away if necessary. Otherwise, you will be not charged cleaner’s wage during the missed session. If you don’t wish a replacement cleaner during the cleaner’s holiday/sickness, we can refund you accordingly upon your message.
Can I trust my housekeeper with my key?
Yes, most of our customers leave keys to their housekeepers. All of our housekeepers are professional, fully vetted, trained and tested. We hold their documents on file and hold comprehensive £5m insurance for your peace of mind.
