The Best of Royal Greenwich Business Awards Ceremony was held on the 6th of March 2020 at the Intercontinental London Hotel next to the iconic O2 arena on the Greenwich peninsula. After being shortlisted for the 2019 Awards, Cleaning Express was attending again as a nominee for the Micro to Small Business Award.
Following a busy year, the team was thrilled to be recognised as one of the leading businesses in the area for the second year in a row. Between the two ceremonies Cleaning Express became a recognised Living Wage Service provider and started promoting the Real London Living Wage among its clients, championing better pay for workers in a notoriously underpaid industry.
In 2019, we also undertook a series of management changes, aiming to improve customer service for new and potential clients. More people came on board and at the moment, all of our office staff is based in Greenwich which helps raise the local employment levels. The company relies on a large number of local cleaners in Greenwich and is always trying to send them to jobs not too far from their homes.
Cleaning Express is growing steadily and is expanding, becoming a brand recognised for high quality, excellent service and social responsibility.
The whole team would like to thank East London Business Place for the continuous support as well as congratulate the winners of the Royal Borough of Greenwich Business Awards in Micros to Small Business category – Eltham Escape Rooms as well as all the other award winners. For us it’s an honour to be part of this excellent community and continue to represent the Royal Borough of Greenwich and its people.

Multilingual Cleaning Company

multilingual cleaning companyAt Cleaning Express head office, we are proud to say, we all come from different countries and speak multiple languages. We are a multilingual cleaning company. This comes in very useful when interacting with customers that do not speak the language well. Even though a big part of our customers are English speaking. We always try our best to listen and understand the needs of every client. We do not want any language barriers stopping us from bringing you the best possible customer service. At present, our office staff speak Russian, Spanish, Bulgarian, Lithuanian, Romanian, Tajik, Polish and Ukrainian. Cleaning Express has over 500 regular customers, many of which also come from abroad.

As well as multilingual head office staff, the cleaners that we employ are of so many different nationalities. We have cleaners that come mostly from England, Moldova, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Bulgaria,  and Poland. Some of our cleaners are from Russia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Portugal, Spain and other countries. Most of our cleaners speak English well or are in the progress of learning it. We try to make sure that all our cleaners are aware of the importance of being able to communicate with the customers. 

There can be an occasion when a customer can be uncomfortable with the cleaner that they might have a difficulty communicating with. We understand that’s it is a possibility. Most important for us is that our customers are completely happy with the assigned cleaners. Being a multilingual cleaning company, we try to be as flexible as possible. We do try to accommodate as many requests as we possibly can. So if you would prefer, for instance, a Russian speaking cleaner, Italian speaking cleaner, or a Spanish speaking cleaner, we’ll do our best to assign one for you.

The War in Ukraine has displaced many families and caused them to leave their homes. We welcome Ukrainian refugees to work at Cleaning Express.

Living Wage Foundation Welcomes Cleaning Express

Living Wage Foundation

Living Wage Foundation is an organisation at the heart of the independent movement of businesses and people that campaign for the idea that a hard day’s work deserves a fair pay, which is in most cases most definitely higher than the minimum wage. Living Wage Foundation acknowledges and honours the leadership of responsible employers who choose to pay a real living wage, which is based on the cost of living, and not just the government minimum.

Living Wage Foundation offers a service Provider Recognition Scheme for contractors who are providing the real living wage to their staff. The real Living Wage is the only UK wage rate that is voluntarily paid by over 4,700 UK businesses who believe their staff deserve a better pay. London based employers make sure all their employees in London receive the London Living Wage. Over 180,000 employees have received a pay rise as a result of the Living Wage campaign.

We are pleased to announce that Cleaning Express is now a Recognised Service Provider working with the Living Wage Foundation. From the very beginning the vision of Cleaning Express was to create a better company, which would care about all staff, tackle low morale and motivation. Most of motivation issues at work come from low pay, and at the very beginning we didn’t have the means to pay living wages to our cleaners. However, the company has grown now and doing better every day, and we are proud to say that we are finally able to provide a wage our wonderful cleaners deserve for doing such an amazing job.

The background checks and public feedback ensure that only reliable and trusted tradespeople get work through this platform. To show our commitment to service and quality, we agreed to uphold The CheckATrade Standard.  You can now see feedback from our customers on our profile page to give you peace of mind.

All members of this platform are thoroughly vetted before they are displayed on the website. You will be able to see exactly which checks have been carried out and passed on our CheckATrade page. This is a completely free platform and they have collected millions of reviews to date.

One of the main reasons we’re proud to become members of this platform is their support for local, national and international charities to help those in need.

Cleaning Express Joins The British Institute of Cleaning Science

British Institute of Cleaning ScienceThe British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) is the largest independent, professional and educational body within the cleaning industry. Also, it has over 25,000 individual and corporate members in the UK and Internationally. BICSc  mission is to raise the standards of the cleaning industry through education and accredited training.

BICSc Standards combine intelligence from a number of highly regarded cleaning industry experts. Because of this level of expertise, BICSc not only offers education about cleaning practices, but an overall ‘Best Practice’ for the cleaning industry.

Cleaning Express is pleased to announce that as of 1st of November 2018, we are proud members of the British Institute of Cleaning Science. This membership lets our company gain recognition for our skills. Also, it gives us exclusive insights into the cleaning industry.

As new members of BICSc, we can’t wait for the forthcoming improvements to our standards and training. With the help, guidance, and assistance of BICSc, we will grow faster and better, and will be able to provide our customers with even higher standards of service.

From the very beginning, Cleaning Express mission was to provide our cleaners with the best possible training and motivation. As a result, it would drive quality and customer satisfaction. Cleaning Express and BICSc see eye to eye on raising the standards through education in cleaning, Health & Safety, COSHH. We have also received good support by reviewing our insurance arrangements. Cleaning Express joins Domestic Cleaning Alliance

Cleaning Express joined Domestic Cleaning Alliance (DCA) today. We have decided that the wealth of experience of this organisation, marketing and training opportunities will benefit our company greatly.

Formed in 2014, DCA is working hard to raise the profile of the domestic cleaning industry. They aim to ensure that those who work at the sharp-end of the service are aware of just how vital their role is to the running of homes all across the country.

Two functions of Domestic Cleaning Alliance (DCA)

DCA has a network of support and information, as well as arranging discounts on supplies, equipment, and insurances. They understand the challenges faced by those running a domestic cleaning business.

Secondly, they raise the profile of domestic cleaning. The DCA is the voice of the UK domestic cleaning industry. Therefore they are constantly striving to increase awareness of the career opportunities countrywide, to improve conditions for those who carry out the cleaning work, and to streamline the ‘customer experience’ for end-users.
